This policy explains what we do with your personal information when you buy from this website or contact us. We are the data controller for that information.

What we collect, and why

Who else handles it
We use a small number of services to run the shop. Each of them only receives what it needs to do its job:
- Stripe — processes card payments. Your card details go directly to Stripe and never reach us.
- Google Workspace — sends and receives our email, including your order confirmation.
- Google Analytics — counts visits to this website, and only if you agreed to it. See Cookies below.
- Our hosting and delivery providers — store the website and deliver your order.
We do not sell your information to anyone, and we do not share it for anyone else’s marketing.
How long we keep it
We keep order records for as long as Maltese tax and accounting law requires — at least six years after the end of the year you ordered in — and newsletter subscriptions until you unsubscribe.
Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of the information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Write to omar@oudmuskmalta.com and we will respond within one month. If you are not satisfied, you can complain to the Office of the Information and Data Protection Commissioner in Malta.
Cookies
This website stores what it needs in order to work: what is in your basket, and whether you are signed in. That storage is strictly necessary — it is what you asked for when you added something to your bag — and it does not require your consent.
We also use Google Analytics 4 to count visits, and only if you choose “Accept” on the cookie bar. If you choose “Essential only”, or you do not answer, Google’s code is not loaded at all — not loaded and switched off, but never fetched. It tells us which pages are read and roughly where visitors come from; it does not tell us who you are.
You can change your mind at any time using Cookie choices at the bottom of any page. Withdrawing consent stops the measurement and deletes the cookies it had set.
We do not use advertising cookies. No advertising account is linked to this website and no advertising or personalisation storage is permitted, whatever you choose above.
